Keeping Fit In Your Every Day Life

A healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and proper nutrition will result in an excellent fitness level. When you stay fit, you can stay young longer and avoid many potentially fatal health conditions. This article will provide tips and ideas to help you add good nutrition and exercise to your daily life, so that you can maintain the best level of fitness possible for a very long time.

Take care of your body by eating whole, real, nutritious foods. When you eat real foods (as opposed to sodas and processed foods that are filled with artificial ingredients) you can eat more, and your body will respond by being healthier and stronger naturally.

Drink plenty of fresh pure filtered water, natural juices and herbal teas. Stay hydrated by keeping a bottle of filtered water with you at all times. Be sure to filter your own tap water, rather than purchasing expensive bottled water. In this way, you will save money while benefiting the environment, secure in the knowledge that the water you are drinking is actually pure. Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do to maintain optimum health and fitness levels. Good hydration benefits every aspect of your body, from your bones to your brains!

Keep moving in your daily life! Walk to do your errands, to go to work or school, and to do anything else within a mile radius of your home or office. Ride your bicycle as often as possible instead of driving. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Go out dancing instead of to a movie. Make it a point to always make the active choice to stay fit and healthy in your everyday life.

Get at least half an hour of vigorous exercise two to three times a week. You can take an aerobics class, go for a run or very brisk walk, go dancing, or play a vigorous game, such as soccer, basketball and so on. No matter what you choose, be sure that it is fun and something that you will continue to do for sheer enjoyment, as well as for the fitness benefits.

Participate in strength training two to three times a week for least 15 minutes per session. Strength training does not have to be overwhelming. You can get a good strength training workout with a set of dumbbells and a few good strength training videos. Keep a set of dumbbells by your chair or in some other convenient location in your home so that you can work out while watching TV, listening to the radio, or reading.

When you stay fit, you will look better and younger. You will also feel better and be able to do much more for much longer throughout your life. Maintaining a good fitness level will help you enjoy your life to the utmost, while avoiding illnesses and even injuries as you grow older and mature.

By naturally cultivating healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle, you can build fitness into your everyday life. Remember to always make the active choice in your daily travels and the healthy choice when it's time to eat. Get plenty of rest, and stay well hydrated, and you'll surely enjoy a healthy, happy and lengthy life!
